Most independent hotels don't have a sustainability department. So Future Hotels built one — centrally, for the entire collection. A share of every affiliation fee funds real, independently verified climate projects, sized to what each property actually measures. Your team sends a handful of numbers once a year. We do the rest.

Measure
Once a year, member hotels send a handful of figures — rooms, occupied nights, energy and fuel use. We calculate the property's operational footprint using HCMI, the methodology built specifically for hospitality.

Finance
A share of every affiliation fee flows into the Future Hotels Earth Fund, which finances verified climate projects — reforestation, conservation and clean energy — sized to each hotel's measured footprint.

Verify & report
Every project we finance is independently verified. Each member hotel receives an annual sustainability report and a Future Hotels profile they can show guests, agents and partners.

Reduce, at the source
Climate finance is only half the answer. We also give member hotels the tools and guidance to cut their own footprint over time — because the goal is fewer emissions to finance, not just more credits to buy.

Direct funding for tree-planting and habitat restoration, including projects across the Mediterranean — the landscapes many of our member hotels call home.

Protecting existing, irreplaceable ecosystems — because the fastest climate win is the forest that's never cut down in the first place.

Financing renewable energy and community climate projects that displace fossil generation at the source.
Verified high-integrity credits
Where credits are used, we prioritise recognised, high-integrity standards — Gold Standard and projects aligned with the ICVCM Core Carbon Principles — with independent third-party verification.
A Regional Focus
Restoring the Mediterranean, hotel by hotel.
As the collection grows, we intend to direct a meaningful share of the Earth Fund toward reforestation and ecosystem restoration across Greece, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Croatia — the landscapes many of our member hotels call home, restored on behalf of every property in the collection.
What We Won't Claim
Precision matters more to us than a bigger headline.
We won't tell you a hotel is “carbon neutral” because it financed some credits — that claim is misleading, and regulators across the EU increasingly agree. What we will tell you, precisely: each member hotel's measured operational footprint, and the verified climate action financed on its behalf through the Earth Fund. Two honest numbers, kept separate, always.
